Ray has spent his professional career serving the Church in western Montana. He began with the Diocese of Helena in 2022 and has served as the Executive Assistant to the Bishop, supporting the Bishop in his daily ministry and collaborating with priests, parishes, and the Diocese’s principal consultative bodies. He has accompanied the Bishop on annual pastoral visits to every parish and mission in western Montana, building relationships and gaining a firsthand understanding of the life of the Church across the Diocese. Ray continued to support the Bishop during his tenure as Co-President of Carroll College (2025–2026). At the national level, he serves on the Advisory Council to the Administrative Committee of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.

Ray recently completed a Master of Arts in Liturgy from the University of Saint Mary of the Lake. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theology and Biochemistry-Molecular Biology from Carroll College.

In his new role with the Foundation, Ray looks forward to building upon the relationships and experience he has gained throughout the Diocese while helping steward the resources entrusted to the Foundation. He is particularly grateful for the opportunity to support the parishes, ministries, and apostolic work of the Diocese and to help ensure that the generosity of the faithful continues to bear great fruit for the Church for generations to come.

Ray and his wife, Riley, have two young children, Thomas and Genevieve. A cradle Catholic and native of the Diocese of Helena, Ray is grateful to continue serving his home Diocese in this new capacity through the Foundation. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, skiing, and researching genealogy.
